I find it odd that I stopped shipping Arwen once it became canon. I think it’s because Gwen seemed to become less of her own character, only “Arthur’s love interest”.

I feel like on this blog there is one Gwen/Angel fanatic who just keeps submitting things about every part of Angel’s physique.

The writers of BBC’s “Merlin” destroyed the things I loved most about certain other retellings of the legends: the romance of Gwenhwyfar and her Lancelot and the incestuous, but equally doomed, love/hate between Morgana and Arthur. I forgive them their sins only for giving me another tragic love story: that between a young warlock burdened by secrets and the emotionally stunted Prince who is destined to break his heart.

I’m done with this show, if the beautiful Queen Guinevere doesn’t get a wardrobe worthy of her grace, awesomeness and gorgeousness, she is the QUEEN for heaven’s sake!

S03E10, Queen of Hearts: when Arthur said ‘I will always love you’ to Gwen while she was being dragged away, my heart swelled. Their love for each other was like.. radiating from my screen. I almost cried. That’s saying something because I ship Merthur to the core.

I love the fact that Mithian was a flawless and lovable princess and I love Merlin’s promise to give her a chance, which he did by not advising Arthur to choose Gwen over her; he just offered a word of truth, that Gwen would sacrifice any thing for him and Camelot, something Merlin witnessed a day before. He even tried to escape the conversation by suggesting to retire when Arthur asked him “what to do?” All this made Arthur’s choice utterly his and his love for Guinevere the epitome of romanticism

All the hate towards Guinevere or Angel or using Gwen’s character to get to Angel herself, all of this really amuses me because it just shows how much envy can be an ugly and uglifying feeling.

I don’t understand why Gwen gets the hate she does, but it irritates me when people try to fight against it by claiming her character is written to fit the legend. In the legends, Guinevere was a princess. And though she married Arthur and was the Queen, she never loved him. Lancelot was her only love. So though she may not deserve the hate, she definitely wasn’t written as the legends portray her.

Now, we know that Angel has a beautiful voice; that’s why I want to hear Guinevere singing a sweet lullaby to hers and Arthur’s baby in series 5.

The sexual tension between Arthur and Gwen is just unbearable, they must have proper sex scenes to relieve their aching desire in S5.
