I find it odd that I stopped shipping Arwen once it became canon. I think it’s because Gwen seemed to become less of her own character, only “Arthur’s love interest”.

I think Arthur’s hair looks the best the way it was styled in episode one. The backs was fluffed out on his neck so you could see the little tufts on either side of his neck from the front and it was much more mussed than it is in later episodes. I like it much better that way than when it’s neat.

I love jousting the most. It’s so saucy. Like when Arthur tries to put his lance in Merlin’s tiny ring. Or when Arthur told Leon “I was wide open, why did you pull out?”— SAUCY, I tell you.

In my personal headcanon I think Uther sometimes has those days (like with the pillow fight moment) where he feels like he’s trying to raise two kids instead of one. He’s just so used to Merlin and Arthur’s antics that he can’t even be bothered to act surprised or argue with it anymore.

The writers of BBC’s “Merlin” destroyed the things I loved most about certain other retellings of the legends: the romance of Gwenhwyfar and her Lancelot and the incestuous, but equally doomed, love/hate between Morgana and Arthur. I forgive them their sins only for giving me another tragic love story: that between a young warlock burdened by secrets and the emotionally stunted Prince who is destined to break his heart.

I love it that Arthur is not surprised seeing Merlin in his chamber in the middle of the nights. He is obviously used to this.

S03E10, Queen of Hearts: when Arthur said ‘I will always love you’ to Gwen while she was being dragged away, my heart swelled. Their love for each other was like.. radiating from my screen. I almost cried. That’s saying something because I ship Merthur to the core.

I love the fact that Mithian was a flawless and lovable princess and I love Merlin’s promise to give her a chance, which he did by not advising Arthur to choose Gwen over her; he just offered a word of truth, that Gwen would sacrifice any thing for him and Camelot, something Merlin witnessed a day before. He even tried to escape the conversation by suggesting to retire when Arthur asked him “what to do?” All this made Arthur’s choice utterly his and his love for Guinevere the epitome of romanticism

Arthur has been engaged every series so far. Now he is married, what are they going to do in series 5?!

I’d really like it if Arthur banished Merlin for finding out about his magic, and then while Merlin is forced to live elsewhere he runs into Morgana (who already knows about his magic), and she tries to get him on her side. Maybe that’s what the producers mean when they say Merlin will have “temptations” in S5.
