Sometimes I daydream about how Arthur and Merlin’s lives would work out if they didn’t follow the legend. I know Merlin will never confess his feelings for Gwen’s sake but I can imagine when Arthur is on his deathbed Merlin will be the last to leave his side and with no time left he will finally whisper ‘If you’re a bird, I’m a bird’ and take his own life.
